Allen Dennard Presents: Swing, Rhythm & Flow

On Saturday Dec. 13, composer, bandleader and one of Detroit’s most in-demand trumpeters, Allen Dennard takes the reins for the evening, presenting “Swing, Rhythm and Flow,” an evening designed to explore the deep ties between hip hop and jazz, threaded together with poetry and the spoken word. For Swing, Rhythm and Flow, Dennard invites a top tier ensemble composed of pianist Ian Fink, bassist Noah Jackson and drummer Travis Aukerman. They’ll be joined by a couple of the Motor City’s finest emcees in Ink and NOLAJ and their set will be bookended with DJ sets by DJ and producer Gulley.
