Anna van Schaap When the Wolf Comes Home- Solo Exhibition

Anna van Schaap’s work overlaps surrealist paintings with traditional portraiture, while exploring ideas of women’s representation, experiences, identity, grief, symbolism, subversive forms of communication, and the psychopathology that arises from being silenced. The work in this exhibition is an exploration of the desire to represent women’s lived experiences.The Show title, “When the Wolf Comes Home” is a continuation of the cultural expression of ‘the wolf at the door”, a metaphor for impending danger. van Schaap graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Michigan, with a degree in Fine Arts- She has shown both nationally and internationally.
