In Other Words: Reimagining writing beyond language
Ordinarily, writing shares ideas by translating them into arrangements of symbols that can be understood by applying the rules of a language. The artists in this show transcend the usual ways writing communicates by creating new writing systems, reinterpreting ancient forms of written communication, or using written signs in nonlinguistic ways to express meaning in situations where ordinary languages will not suffice.
