Jazz guitar great Dennis Coffey has performed and recorded as a solo artist and composer, and as a session musician with a host of rock and roll legends ranging from Del Shannon to The Temptations to George Clinton and Funkadelic. He recorded “Scorpio” in 1971 as part of his second solo record and first for Sussex (“Evolution”). “Scorpio” was a million selling single and was a key foundational track in the history and development of hip-hop, totally apart from its status as a funk classic. Coffey is a member of the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame,
