To say a band sounds like a cross between Coldplay and metro Detroit’s disbanded outfit the Silent Years is a high compliment. No, really. Though there are some obvious comparisons, metro Detroit five-piece Kimball does something all their own. Just take last year’s debut EP, North Wilson, which finds Austin McCauley (vocals, guitar), Emily Barr (vocals), Jack Mullen (guitar), and Brodie Glaza (drums) going full throttle with cathartic, lush, and layered harmonies that would make Florence Welch say “good goddamn.” Kimball will tease new music with the debut of their latest single, “Hollow,” along with performances by Handgrenades, Legume, and Chuck.
