Palmer Park Log Cabin Day: Festival & Ice Cream Social with Roots Music, Square Dancing, Art & Historical Re-enactments

Tour the 140-year-old historic Palmer Park Log Cabin at a free, family-friendly festival filled with music, art, history, children’s hat & bonnet art-making and parade (prizes for all!), and free ice cream. The celebration features blues, jazz, folk and roots music with Roots Journey— vocalist Jahra McKinney on African instruments, guitarist Ron Rutherford, bassist Jaribu Shahid and banjoist Larry Gabriel. Learn steps with the Clawsonaires Square Dancers; see artists quilting, spinning, weaving, blacksmithing and other traditional arts, and visit with the 102nd USCT Civil War Black History Troop and Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
