RE/STRICT Film Festival

Detroit hosts its first-ever RE/STRICT Film Festival on November 22, 2025, at Outer Limits Lounge, 5507 Caniff St. The festival celebrates kink as political resistance and showcases work that confronts censorship and amplifies marginalized voices. Screenings include the films THE VISITOR, Make Me a Pizza, Beat It, and Split Shot, alongside the Peabody Award-winning documentary Queendom, and more. Live performance features Jill Goldman’s immersive Nothing Was Censored, exploring the policing of desire and digital censorship. A panel with the Free Speech Coalition on Paxton v. Free Speech Coalition and a discussion with Pervs for Liberty on state-level advocacy.
