She Loves Me
Set in a 1930s European perfumery, workplace rivals Amalia and Georg each find solace in a secret pen pal they met through a “lonely hearts” ad. As their anonymous correspondence deepens, so does the tension between them in real life. This play has inspired several adaptations, including the classic films The Shop Around the Corner (1940) and In the Good Old Summertime (1949), as well as the 1998 film You've Got Mail.
