Straw and Bean Silver Casting Jewelry Workshop with Michael Opipari

Straw-casting silver: This is a low-tech direct casting method that is a lot of fun to play with. You soak an old-fashioned straw broom in water for a few hours, then melt and pour molten silver from a crucible into the bunched bristles of the broom. The same technique is used with beans, can use any shaped bean, kidney, pea, black bean. Michael is bringing his jewelry making talent to this one day only workshop. Attendees will take home a finished piece at the end of the workshop. Only 10 seats remaining!
