The Detroit Black Music Awards

In 2009, the Detroit Black Music Awards was created by Gold, Platinum and Diamond award winning recording artist Misty Love. The purpose of the award ceremony is to spotlight and honor local artists, producers and venues in the Metropolitan Detroit area. All nominees are treated like celebrities with the glitz and glamor of a Hollywood production. On Sunday, August 6, 2023, we will celebrate the 15th annual Detroit Black Music Awards. This year’s theme is “Music, How It All Started”. Prior to the presentation of awards, we will present a star studded performance detailing the evolution of music.
