Motor City Brew's "Wednesday Night Art Series" presents, VANTA: Ink Drawings by Stacey MacLeod
VANTA: VANTA is the blackest black.
This collection of my ink compositions reflects the visceral power of black and
white art: because there are no hues to provoke an emotional response, the subjects
of the pieces have concentrated power.
Stacey MacLeod is a Detroit, multidisciplinary artist who creates graphic, molten
images—drawn with ink or painted with acrylic and/or over-laid with watercolor
or spray paint. They often depict images of women (Virgin Mary, Isis, Venus) and
feminine symbols (angels, flowers, birds)—using thick, graphic lines.
