Virtual Christmas Celebration with the Willis C. Patterson Our Own Thing Chorale

FAMILY EVENT: In this hour-long virtual celebration of Christmas, the Our Own Thing Chorale will perform Christmas spirituals by African American composers and arrangers. The program also features Christmas carol sing-alongs, puppets, and readings of works by Dunbar, Havergal, and Thurman. Directed by Darnell Ishmel. The Our Own Thing Chorale has performed extensively for over 50 yrs. in the greater Ann Arbor area, and throughout Michigan and beyond. The Chorale is committed to the preservation and performance of traditional Negro spirituals as well as contemporary choral compositions written and/or arranged by African American composers and musicians.
