Voices & Rhythms with Michelle Jahra McKinney
In conjunction with Afro Moone and the Detroit Sound Conservancy, we warmly welcome Michelle Jahra McKinney to Moondog for an evening honoring the ancestry of a Detroit musical legacy. McKinney is a native Detroiter who grew up just a short distance from Moondog where she began singing at an early age. Archivist, librarian, singer and griot, McKinney now serves as Director of the Detroit Sound Conservancy, a community-based archive & organization in the process of restoring the historic Bluebird Inn.
