Sugar Hill Clay, a community ceramics studio in Detroit, is hosting an exhibition and open house March 25-27. Practice/Progress/ Play brings together the work of students and members at Sugar Hill Clay, valuing early efforts as much as polished results. Together, these works make visible the learning process—how repetition, persistence, curiosity, and experimentation transform not only the clay but the maker—and our goal for sustaining a practice that evolves. This exhibit is part of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) 2026 Conference. Studio tours available.
