Talking With Strangers - Acrylic Portraits by Ken Claes

Farmington Hills artist Ken Claes will display a collection of acrylic paintings in the Rotating Exhibits Gallery of Farmington Hills City Hall from March 30-May 22, 2026. Claes is an architect-turned-painter specializing in vibrant, multi-colored figurative imagery. Influenced by the 1960s California Hard-edge Movement, Claes’ style and technique uses sharp, unblended edges and flat surfaces to highlight subjects while intentionally discarding traditional perspective by completely eliminating the vanishing point. The public can meet him during the artist talk and reception or can also visit the exhibit any time City Hall is open, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
